2023 Holiday Party

The Washington Park Camera Club (WPCC) transformed Ruby Brownstone’s Infinity Event Center into a holiday wonderland on Friday, December 15, 2023, for their much-anticipated Annual Holiday Party. The festive gathering brought together members of the club and their guests for a memorable evening of camaraderie and celebration.

Upon arriving at the event venue located at 10244 S Vincennes Ave, Chicago, IL 60643, attendees were treated to a warm red carpet welcome. Inside, the banquet room was adorned with vibrant Christmas decorations and WPCC’s signature red color scheme, setting the perfect backdrop for the holiday festivities. Guests were greeted with a delightful Pastry Bar featuring WPCC-branded treats and desserts, setting the tone for the evening’s indulgences.

The official program commenced at 7:00 PM with the charismatic Sharnetta Kylce taking the stage as the evening’s MC. Sharnetta’s lively presence ensured that everyone remained engaged and entertained throughout the event. Roslyn J. Armour, from the club’s Banquet Committee, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Vanessa Thomas led the invocation prayer.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the delicious buffet-style meal, featuring mixed green salad, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, string beans, and corn muffins. Guests were spoiled with a wide variety of mouthwatering desserts available at the Pastry Bar.

The holiday cheer continued with a unique twist as each table participated in “Table Side” Christmas Karaoke, with each group selecting their favorite Christmas song to sing along to. One table even delighted the crowd with an impromptu dance performance that left everyone in stitches. Linda Hondas hosted an exciting raffle that awarded members with fabulous prizes and surprises, adding to the festive atmosphere. Sharnetta and Vanessa also engaged the crowd with trivia questions that had everyone eager to participate.

As the night drew to a close, President Philip Thomas delivered closing remarks, expressing gratitude to the banquet committee for organizing such a memorable evening. “I’d like to say a very special ‘thank you!’ to Roslyn, Lauren, Jerlyn, Linda, Vanessa, Yvonne, and of course our own MC Sharnetta K, for your hard work in planning, organizing and executing such a wonderful event! Another special ‘thank you’ to everyone who pitched in to help, in whatever way you could, to make the evening the success that it was!”

Philip encouraged all attendees to cherish the season of peace and joy, spend time with loved ones, and capture and preserve every precious moment. Attendees departed with tokens of appreciation from both Sharnetta and the President, ensuring that the memories of this remarkable Holiday Party would be cherished for years to come.
