SUMMARY:May Theme - Kentucky Derby Hat
DESCRIPTION:The Kentucky Derby will take place from May 1 to May 3\, 2026. This iconic event is renowned not only for its thrilling horse race\, but also for the vibrant display of luxury and fashion. Spectators showcase their impeccable taste with stylish hats\, worn by sophisticated women and dapper men throughout the festivities. \n\n\n\nMonthly Theme: Hat Creation and Selfies\n\n\n\nIn celebration of the Kentucky Derby\, members are encouraged to express their creativity by designing their own hats of any style\, or by using any hat or cap they already have. Capture the fun by taking selfies—whether standing in front of a mirror\, asking someone else to click the photo\, or even placing the hat on another person or pet. Experiment with different angles to make your photos unique and enjoyable. The only requirement is that the hat can be of any type\, allowing for endless possibilities. Have fun with styles. \n\n\n\nParticipation Activity\n\n\n\nMembers are invited to select a couple of hats and take selfies to share with the group. These photos can be shown via Zoom\, offering an opportunity to display your creative skills and enjoy the spirit of the Derby together. \n\n\n\nPhotos are due no later than Sunday\, May 31\, 2026. The link for submission will be provided in mid May. Show & Tell date in June TBD

DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to viewing many creative photographic images which will receive well deserved scores from the judges.All eligible members are encouraged to participate with Print & DPI entries. \n\n\n\nPrinted images should be mounted on black boards and submitted no later than 6:15pm. Competition will begin promptly at 6:30pm. \n\n\n\nPrint competition is every other month. Therefore submission of prints are as follows: \n\n\n\nSmall print 11×14 – 1 B&W per month. 1 Color per month. Total 4 prints \n\n\n\nLarge print 16×20 – 1 B&W per month. 1 Color per month. Total 4 prints \n\n\n\nDPI File Size & Format \n\n\n\n\n2 B&W Images\n\n\n\n2 Color Images\n\n\n\n\nUnless your image proportions are in the exact ratio of 4 to 3\, one of these dimensions will be less than the maximum.  \n\n\n\n\nEach image must have the following maximum size: Horizontal side will be no more than 1920 pixels.
